New York 2013 (Day 4)

The fourth day (wednesday the 20th of March) in New York we started our day by taking the subway to the World Trade Center Memorial. When we got out of the subway, we first went for a quick breakfast at ‘au bon pain’. After that we went on to go to the Memorial. First you had to go trough security like you would at the airport. I think it’s a good thing that they have security, but I think it was a bit much. Then we finally got at the Memorial and it was an emotional moment. It’s unbelievable that so much people died there for nothing. I think they represented and honored the deceased in a nice way with the 2 waterfalls. After the Memorial we went on to the seaside for a tour along the Statue of Liberty. We took the Staten Island Ferry to sail past Miss Liberty. I personally think that the Staten Island Ferry is the most interesting way to do this. First of all it is free, and you get a good view of Miss Liberty and when you are further away to Staten Island you also get a nice view over the city. Afterwards we past by the bull of Wall Street and went on to the City Hall. From the City Hall we walked up to the arch of the Brooklyn Bridge. Here we enjoyed the nice view (there were constructions going on, so the view could have been a little bit better I guess, but it was still a nice view). We took some pictures and after that we went back to the City Hall because there was a food truck from ‘Wafels & Dinges’, and we got ourselves THE BEST (Belgian) wafel you can get! We carried on our tour trough Broadway and there we did a little shopping before going to the Washington Square Park. It was very nice seeing it in the evening. After all the walking we got hungry and went to the ‘Best’ Pizzeria in New York, John’s Pizzeria at Bleecker Street.

That was our adventure for the 4th day.

Stay tuned for some more New York adventures!

Mini haul

Hi everyone!

I’m sorry that my uploading is not realy consequent, but i’m having a few problems with my thesis for my Master year at school and I want to get that figured out because the 21st of May I have to file it.

So I tought I would give you a mini haul. I needed to pick something up at the local drugstore, and I got a few other products as well.

I originaly went to pick up the Compeed anti-blister stick. It’s a stick that prevents blisters. Every year when the weather gets better I want to put on my more ‘summer-ish’ shoes, and almost every time I have some blisters. Mostly I use the Compeed plasters. But I want to prevent from getting blisters so I use the stick. It prevents friction which causes the blisters. It’s a bit like a lip balm, you just put it on your foot, and it’s like it places a film on your foot and your ready to go. You can apply it multiple times a day for better use.

I also got 3 other things, namely a cover stick from Essence, a long lasting eyepencil waterproof from catrice and an eyelash curler from NYC.

I haven’t used the previous named products, exept for the Compeed anti-blister stick. So I keep you guys updated about the use of the products.

Till next time!

New York 2013 (Day 3)

Our third day (Tuesday the 19th of March) we went for breakfast at, yes the most visited place in America, Starbucks. I’m not so much of a coffee-freak so I ordered a latte as usual. From her on we went to 5th Avenue because the weather was not so good, it was raining. So we wanted to hop from one shop to the other. We started at the Upper East Side and worked our way down to the Flatiron building. Although it is the 4th time I went to NY, I never been into FAO Schwarz, so it was time to meet the biggest playstore. We made some music on the Big Piano. Then we went on to the other shops like Bergdorf Goodman, Tiffany’s, Abercrombie, … At 55th street, we went down the street to the LOVE-sign. After taking a few pics, we went back to 5th Ave and went into the Saint Patricks Cathedral. Rockefeller Center is the next place we walked by, later in the week, we went up Rockefeller Center to the topdeck. We walked further down 5th Ave and saw the Empire State Building, and last for the day the Flatiron Building. After all our shopping we went back to Times Square to go to Planet Hollywood for dinner.

Stay tuned for NY day 4!
