New York 2013 (Day 6 & 7)

Hey everyone!

Here is day 6, the last full day (friday the 22nd of March) of our New York trip! First we got a little breakfast before going on our trip to the High Line. The High Line is pretty new, it’s an old railroad that they transformed to a walking path. It’s a little green oases in the big city. When the weather is better you can find a lot of people who are from, or work in the neighborhood eating their lunch here. The High Line is quit long as it stretches from 30th street (& 10th Ave.) to Gansevoort street. There are also other locations from where you can get on and of the High Line. We went from 30th street all the way down to Gansevoort street where we went on to go to a metro station. From there on we got to Central Park. Here, we also ha a great walk trough Central Park. We went to see the Dakota building and the Imagine sign at strawberry fields. From there we walked to the big fountain across the famous boat house and from there we continued to the reservoir. At the reservoir, we got out of he park to the Upper East Side and we went back downtown, while we past the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Central Park Zoo and so we ended back at the shopping part of 5th Avenue. We ended up doing a little shopping, after which we went to Magnolia Bakery to try one of their delicious cupcakes! And oh my, they were so delicious! And then, on to the last thing of the day we did… We went on Top of the Rock (The Rockefeller Observation Deck)! Here we had an amazing view over the city. We went around 7pm so we still had some daylight, but it was going to get dark, because we wanted to experience it both in the daylight as in the dark. I have to say that this was one of the most AMAZING experiences of the trip! The reason we chose the Rockefeller Center in stead of the Empire State Building is because from the Rockefeller Center you can see the Empire State Building. Which you obviously can’t when you are standing on top of it. After this amazing experience we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for dinner. And then we went back to our hotel to start a bit of our packing because we had to leave in the afternoon the next day (sad face).

The last day we did the final packing and went to Starbucks for breakfast and then we went to Times Square for the last time to do a little bit of last-minute shopping for some souvenirs and stuff like that. Around 2pm we went back to our hotel to get our suitcases and leave for the airport because our flight back home was at 6pm.

Hope you enjoyed reading this New York story. And if you go there some time I hope you may have an amazing trip as I had!

Thursdays beauty tips #1 – perfect brows

Hi everyone!

During the summer months I will give some little beauty tips. Every thursday a new tip will go up.

This week is the first tip. How can you keep your brows in perfect shape the whole day?
A brow comb and hairspray is all you need!

After filling your brows in. You take a brow comb (one that looks like the bristle from a mascara) and spray some hairspray on it. Then you comb your brows in the right shape and they will stay perfect the whole day!

Both a brow comb and hairspray can be found in a local drugstore.

Come back next week for more beauty tips!

Hot tub cinema London

Are you tired of the old drive-in movies? Hot tub cinema came out with a new concept based on it. You can enjoy a great movie while relaxing in a hot tub.

During the summer they are located on rooftops in central London. When in winter they take their concept indoors. The events they organize are public and you can rent a tub with your friends or get a ticket to share a tub with other people. Besides the public events you can also contact them for private events. At the moment they are only operating in London and the UK, but they are preparing to go internationally in the future.

Since the first rooftop screening in 2012 the event has grown so they have 20 hot tubs, 2 screens and a surround sound system for the real cinema experience.
One little thing to mention is that the movies played aren’t the most recent ones.

For more information on dates, movies and prices, check

I would love to try it out sometime.

H&M on Tomorrowland

This year H&M comes to Tomorrowland (de Schorre, Boom, Belgium)!
They will be opening a pop-up store in the camping-area Dreamville.

Festival people who will stay at Tomorrowland can buy some festival-approved clothing, accessories and make-up at the H&M loves music pop-up store. It’s gonna be a 2 floors glass house of 72 squared meters. And it even gets better, when you bring an old t-shirt, you get a brand new one! There will also be a freshen’ up corner where you can touch up your make-up, go for an entire different look and buy some cool accessories.

For those who weren’t able to get a ticket for Tomorrowland, you can win a duo ticket when you make a purchase between the 27th of June and the 14th of July (purchase must be a minimum of 30 euro).

Happy shopping Tomorrowland people!

New York 2013 (Day 5)

Hi Everyone!

This is day 5 of New York. Day 5 was Thursday the 21th of March. Because they said it didn’t get to be good weather, we chose to have a little shopping day. First thing of the day was taking the subway to Union Square Park. We went to there because near there, there was an Ihop. For those of you who don’t know Ihop, it’s a restaurant where you can have some delicious breakfast with eggs, and pancakes. You always see people eating this in diners in films, and I wanted to try it for myself. So we got to Ihop and ordered some eggs with pancakes. And it was yummy! We continued our walk on Broadway, cause we stopped here the last day and we still had some stuff to see. We continued walking Broadway until we came close to Macy’s, first we stopped at Madison Square Garden, and then continued to Macy’s to do a little shopping. After all the shopping we went to the Hotel to change, and then went to Red Lobster to have dinner. I got the pasta with shrimp and lobster. After dinner we spend a little more time on Times Square before heading back to our hotel.

I have to say that this wasn’t a realy adventures day, but that was because of the weather forecast.

Stay tuned for more New York adventures!

Mini haul – fashion / beauty

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to update you on what little things I’ve been buying in the last two weeks or so. I got a few fashion items and a few beaty items.

Let’s start with the fashion items. I got a black top from Forever21. I realy needed another black top/shirt because my other one is a bit to tight. And I think that everyone should have at least one decent black shirt, so I got myself a new one. The second fashion item I got is a top from Brandy Melville. It’s a racerback top with vintage cameras at the front. I have to admit I never heard of Brandy Melville until last December via Youtube. We didn’t have a Brandy Melville in Belgium, so that’s why I didn’t know it. But I few weeks ago I was walking in Antwerp and there it was… A Brandy Melville in the Huidevetterstraat. So I went in and saw a few fun things, but I realy liked the top with the cameras because I saw someone on Youtube wear it as well. I like the style of the clothes although some things are not realy my cup of tea, they will be seeing more of me in the future.

Next I also got a few beauty items. I got 3 lip-products, 1 nail polish and 2 body products.

I’ll start with the nail polish. It’s one of Koh, and it’s in the shade 252 Play Daily! It’s a dark green shimmery color. It’s perfect for the fall and winter times. The reason I got it now is because it was on sale for 5€ at Ici Paris XL. Normally they sell for 19-20€. And I didn’t have a colour like that, so it was a win-win.

The next thing I got were some lip-products. One is a lipgloss from Dior and it’s the Dior Addict Gloss in the shade 856 Iconic Red. It’s a nice bright, yet a little bit transparant red lipgloss. It gives a lot of colour for a lipgloss, but it still is a bit transparant. If you want longer wear and even more colour payoff I recommend using a red lipstick or some kind. You can find Dior Lipglosses at local beauty specialists.
Because I wanted it to last longer, I got a lipstick to put under it. I didn’t want to spend to much money on it because my main product is the lipgloss. So I went to Kruidvat and looked for a lipstick. At the time, there was a promotion from Catrice (2 lip-products for 5€). So I got myself 2 lipsticks. The one for under the lipgloss is a red lipstick in the colour 260 It’s A Matt Word from the Ultimate Colour range. The second one is in the colour 240 Hey Nude from the Ulitmate Colour range. The nude one does look a bit more brownish in the tube, but it is more a nude colour. I have to say I didn’t know what to expect from these lipsticks but I like them. They have a good colour payoff and they stay on quite long. If you do want to wear them all day, you do have to reapply them during the day.

Last thing I got were 2 body products. One is from Ici Paris XL home brand ONLY YOU. It’s a moisturizing shower cream in the scent Pomegranate Passion. It has a nice fruity scent and I cant wait to try it out. I bought the small version because I wanted to try it out first, to see if I like it. And the last product is the 3 minutes face mask from Yves Rocher, also with a pomegranate scent. I had a coupon to try it out for free, so I wanted to try it out. It says you can use it 2-3 times a week and you just have to put it on, and leave it for 3 minutes and then rince it off with water. It is supposed to give you a clean and soft skin, but I only used it once, so I can’t really say if it works.

So that were all my shopping items. Have a nice day!
