Thursdays beau tips #10 – mascara

Hi everyone!

During the summer months I will give some little beauty tips. Every thursday a new tip will go up.

This weeks tip is about mascara. It’s an essential item in your beauty stack. I guess that almost every woman uses a mascara. And of course there are some different types regarding their use. Also each type of brush has it’s own purpose.

When you are searching for one that curls your lashes more, you need a brush in the shape of a half moon. A thick straight brush makes sure you have more full lashes. A brush with shorter hairs separates your lashes perfectly. And a brush with a round tip pushes your lashes up and gives your lashes more curling and volume.

Product review – Bioderma Solution Micellaire

Hi everyone!

Yet another product I have tried and wanted to let you know something about. This time it’s about the Bioderma Sébium H2O solution micellaire. It’s a miracle in a bottle. It is a clear make-up remover that looks like water but it has more to it. And if even gets easily rid of your waterproof make-up. You can put it on a cotton pad and clean the face. It can be used as a make-up remover, but even when you don’t have any make-up on, you can still use it as a regular cleanser. It cleanses and purifies the skin.

20130827-201605.jpgThere are different varieties in this product. I have the Sébium one, because that one is more for a combination to oily skin. And than there is the Créaline and Sensibio, which are more for normal to sensitive skin. They sell 3 different sizes, one of 500ml which is the biggest, one of 250ml and one of 100ml which is a small bottle.

Mine is 500ml and you get a long way with it. If you use make-up on a regularly basis, you can use it about 3-4 months. It is a bit more pricy than some other similar products, but I think it’s worth it’s price. And sometimes there are specials with two bottles in for a good price.

I do have to say that it’s a bit hard to come by in the US, but there are sites who sell and ship to the US. Of course you pay a bit more because there are shipment costs.

I would certainly recommend it! Which make-up remover do you use?

Thursdays beauty tips #9 – dry shampoo

Hi everyone!

During the summer months I will give some little beauty tips. Every thursday a new tip will go up.

This weeks tip is about dry shampoo. I think that some people don’t know it, but dry shampoo should be your friend. Or you have amazing hair that you don’t have to wash every day, then you won’t need it.

20130822-210450.jpg

20130822-210528.jpgSome examples of dry shampoos: Top – Batiste. Bottom – Not Your Mother’s / Garnier / John Frieda / TRESemmé

Almost everyone has an issue with their hair. Some think their hair is to flat or to curly, to blonde or to brunette or another color or some sort of consistency. But a lot of people wash their hair on a daily basis, wich is not so good for your hair. When you wash your hair daily you destroy the rhythm of the natural sebum production wich makes your hair even more quickly greasy. Therefor it is interesting to use dry shampoo when your hair is greasy but you don’t want to (or don’t need to) wash it. Your hair won’t look greasy and it gives you a bit of extra volume.

So the best thing to do is to wash your hair every two days with normal shampoo, and the other day you use dry shampoo. That way your hair always looks good and it is more healthy for your hair.

Summer hair styles

Hi everyone!

So this is a bit of a strange post since summer is almost over, but I have written this a while ago and apparently it didn’t get posted. But since it can still be good weather in late august and september, are here some of my favourite summer hair styles.

Beach waves

20130820-202617.jpgIt’s a classic one. Whenever you go to the beach you get these beach waves when you go into the sea. And we have to be fair, they don’t always look that cute. But when you make them artificially they look so good in the summer months! You can get these very easilly by using some sea salt solution. A lot of hair product brands have them in their collection. You just need to spray some product on your hair, scrunch it in and let it dry naturally.

Top knot

20130820-202714.jpgAnother one that is simple and fun is the top knot. When you don’t know what to do with your hair just put a top knot in it. It looks like you put some effort in it, when it only takes a little time. You can wear it sleek like Kim Kardashian or a little more playfullf like Hayden Panettiere. The only thing you need is a hair tie and some hairspray to keep everything in place.

Fishtail braid

20130820-202804.jpgThis one needs a little bit more practice but once you get the hang of it it is relatively easy, it’s the fishtail braid. It’s fun because it is something more than just a regular braid. And it can also be easilty worn on a more classy event just as well as on a casual day.
I found this how to on http://www.style.com.

Messy updo

20130820-202928.jpgThis last one is one of my absolute favourites. It’s kind of a messy updo. Just like the top knot you can wear it more classy looking (top photos) or you can wear it a little bit messy (bottom photos). You can reproduce this style by making a low ponytail and tying it with a hair tie. And then you just put it up with some bobby pins. You can add some braids like there are on the top photos. Just make sure you do them in advance. You can either put them in the ponytail or pin it in the messy bun.

I like to have my hair up when it is really warm outside, usually I do sort of a top knot or I do the messy updo. What are your favourite summer hair styles?

Karl Lagerfeld coming to Antwerp

Hi everyone!

Yay for all Karl Lagerfeld fans! Because he is coming to Antwerp. Well at least a concept store for his own line.

20130817-130451.jpgHe set up a business called Karl Lagerfeld. This business will distribute the collection of Karl Lagerfeld in Belgium and Luxembourg. And in Antwerp a concept store will open at the end of October. The business group GAB will determine who can sell the Karl Lagerfeld line. With this they try to reach a higher market segment of Belgium and Luxembourg.

More info to come on this!

Thursdays beauty tips #8 – applying make-up

Hi everyone!

During the summer months I will give some little beauty tips. Every thursday a new tip will go up.

This weeks tip is a small but a very efficient one. It is about make-up and how you can apply it.

I guess most of you who use make-up have ‘suffered’ from some make-up fall-out when applying. It is not the most fun thing to experience when you already have your foundation on. So here is the tip: apply your eye make-up first! When you do have any fall-out or smudges, you can just take a cotton pad with some make-up remover and wipe it of. After you have applied your eye make-up you can continue with the rest of your make-up.

Another little tip that could help with this is to tap off any excess eye make-up from your brush.

What’s in my bag – small bag edition

Hi everyone!

I tend to have a lot of stuff in my bag, but when summer comes I try to take a smaller bag with me when I go somewhere. Because otherwise I take to many things with me that I don’t really need.

20130813-210221.jpgSo here is what I take with me in my smaller bag. My bag is a “clutch”-type bag from Armani and it is bright red. I bought this beauty when I was in New York 3 years ago. The things I take with me are the things I use when i’m out. First of all I bring my wallet with me. My wallet is a small one from Michael Kors and it has a snake-skin print. Then I also bring my phone with me, at the moment it has a flower-case on it. I also bring chewing gum, mine is from Stimerol. It is the Stimerol Senses in sweet mint. The little blue thing poking out on the bottom are tissues. I also bring some deodorant, especially in the summer, cause no one wants to smell bad. Mine is from Rexona and it is a small edition so it’s easy to carry with you. I also bring my cover stick from Essence for when I need to do dome touch-ups. I also carry a lip product with me, mostly it are multiple items. Here in the picture I have my EOS lip balm in summer fruits and a lip balm from Eucerin. And then I also bring the lip color with me that I put on in the morning. I also have a little tube from Ici Paris in my bag. It’s a tube you can fill with your own perfume so you can take a small amount of your favorite perfume with you. I also have a hand sanitizer with some jojoba pearls with me cause I like to wash-up my hands once in a while. On the left there are some pills, they are Neurofen. I always take some with me for when I should get sick. And last I have my sunglasses. I put them in a grey hard case. And my sunglasses are from Dior.

<a href="http://missna

20130813-210039.jpgI think I still take a lot of things with me, but it is certainly less than I take with me in my bigger bag.

What do you take with you in your bag?
