Happy Halloween!

Hi everyone!

First of all I wanted to wish you a happy halloween! Second, I have a quick little post for halloween-inspired nails.

20131030-213354.jpg
I know it is nothing spectacular but I wanted something that you could also have on during the day. So I didn’t went to overboard and only went for a “statement” nail (my ring finger). I got inspired by a picture I found online and I wanted to try it out myself. It’s a simple black nail with some googlie eyes on it.

So here are the few simple steps to recreate this look.
1. Put on a clear basecoat
2. Put on 2 layers (or how many you like) of black nail polish
3. Take a dotting tool, dip it in your white nail polish and put 2 circles next to each other
4. Take a smaller dotting tool, dip it in your black nail polish and put a small dot in your white circle
5. Finish with a clear topcoat
And there you have some googlie eyes!

Trends fall/winter 2013

Hi everyone!

We are really getting into fall/winter now. It is getting colder and more dark outside. So time for our fall/winter outfit. Every season there are some trends, and I wanted to list a few of them. This fall/winter leather, fur, green, burgundy, tweed are some of the trends.

Leather

20131029-185301.jpg
You can’t go without leather this winter. It doesn’t need to be a shiny piece but also a matte piece looks great! And you can go with all sorts of color, it doesn’t have to be black.

Fur

20131029-185344.jpg
Almost every fall/winter season you can find fur in collections. And this year is no exeption. But leave the classics behind and go for a colorful piece.

Green

20131029-185434.jpg
Colors like darker greens and hunter green are in this season. You can find a lot of pieces in the collections of different brands.

Burgundy

20131029-185536.jpg
Burgundy is the new black! You can’t go without a burgundy item in your closet this season. Just like the green you can go with any item you want. Pants, swaeters, dresses, tops, etc. I think it also looks great in a leather skirt.

Tweed

20131029-185622.jpg
When people say tweed, you immediatly think Chanel-jacket. Right, but this season tweed is all over the place. You can find tweed coats, skirts, pants and evens shoes! If you want, you can also go for an item in a neon color.

Other trends you can’t go wrong with are printed pants, oversized items, military items, and as always the classic black and white colors, and so on.

While writing this, I think I should look for some new pieces to complement my closet because I am missing some fall/winter trends in my closet! What trends do you like this season?

Armani Jeans store opening Antwerp

Hi everyone!
20131026-184431.jpg
Thanks to Nathalie from Curls and Bags I was able to go to the opening of the armani Jeans store in Antwerp on thursday. It was a very fun experience. We were treated with lots of food and drinks. It’s a very nice store, the outside has a more old-feeling to it, but on the inside it is modern, and I think it complements eachother well.

The store has two levels. On the ground level they sell the men’s collection, on the second level they sell their woman’s collection. You can find all things from clothes, to shoes, to accessories. When looking at the woman’s collection I noticed a lot of green and burgundy. And there was one jacket that was the eyecatcher in the store. It was a multicolored fur jacket as you can see on the photo.

Mini beauty haul

Hi everyone!

Today is time for a mini beauty haul. I needed/wanted a few things so I got them the last 2 weeks.

20131022-192542.jpg
The first item I got is the L’oreal Sublime Soft Eau Micellaire (dry or combination skin). I got this because I am running out on my Bioderma Eau Micellaire. I do like the Bioderma one, but I wanted to try out some other ones as well and the best thing is that the one from L’oreal only was around 4,50€, where the Bioderma one is around 17€. The second product I bought is from Qiriness, it is the Elixir Eclat Parfait. This product is a serum for anti-redness and anti-spots. It’s supposed to get rid of any redness and dark spots. Lately I suffer from redness on my cheeks, and I hope by using this it will calm my skin and reduce the redness. I bought this one instead of the Estee Lauder Even Skintone Illuminator. Because the Illuminator from Estee Lauder is supposed to put a little bit of glow on your skin, and I try to avoid that because I have a combination to oily skin. The next product is a lipstick from Mac and it is in the color Amorous (AB2). It is a satin finish lipstick. I was looking for a darker berry-colored lipstick and I went to Mac to look for one. I tried out a few colors, but this one looked nicest. Because my skin is somewhat lighter in the winter I didn’t want a color that was to dark. This one is just perfect. It is a nice berry color that is not to dark. The last product that I bought is the Longlasting eye pencil waterproof in Moss undercover. It is a darker metallic green color. I always use a black one, and I wanted to try out something else. Since the darker green is a fall/winter color I wanted to give that one a try. I already used the black one from Catrice and I like the product, so that is why I got their green one.

Product empties #1

Hi everyone!

Once every while you use a product until there is no product left. This is a post about those products, it’s a products empties. I will let you know what products I have used up, and what my thoughts were and if I would buy them again.

20131015-210019.jpg
The first product is the Wella Pro series Moisture treatment. This is a conditioner/masque for your hair. I really liked it. It gave my hair shine, it moisturized, it detangled my hair. It was like the perfect product. I would definitely buy it again, the only downside is, that it is no longer available in Belgium. So I bought me some products from Macadamia.

Another hair product that I finished is the Schwarzkopf Bonacure hairtherapy in Color Freeze. I liked this product, but I didn’t love it. I find it very hard to find a good shampoo and I’m not quickly satisfied with it. This one in particular is for colored hair. I don’t have full colored hair, but i have some highlights that I want to nurish as much as possible, that’s why I went for a color-treatment shampoo. It does help to keep you color for a long time, but beside that, it doesn’t do much else. I do recommend to use a good conditioner with it. I would recommend it if you want a good shampoo for colored hair.

The next product is the Rituals Yogi Flow shower gel. I love this product, it has a nice texture, it smells great and it gives a spa-like feelingx. Rituals has more of these products with different scents. I did buy it again already, I bought the Yogi Flow twice again, and now I wanted to try another scent, so i got the Sunrise one which is with a orange and ceder wood scent.

Another emptie is my Gucci by Gucci perfume. This one is the eau de parfum. I prefer eau de parfum because the scent is stronger and it stays on longer. This is a really nice scent and I would definitely buy it again sometime, but I want to try another scent first. I am looking to buy the new one from Armani, Sí.

The next product is a make-up product an it is the Dior Diorshow Iconic mascara. This is a great mascara! It kind of does everything you want from a mascara. It lengthens, gives volume, it separates the lashes. I really like to use this product. I know it’s more on the expensive side (around 30€ or 30$) but I think it is worth it, somethimes you have to splurge on your make-up if you can. I already got myself a new one that is waiting to be used.

The last product is a nail polish remover (kruidvat). I didn’t really used it up, because I didn’t really like it. I used it a few times to see if it was my nail polish that was hard to remove (because of glitter or a darker color) but that was not the case. Even my lighter colors were very hard to remove with this. I already had tried another one from Bourjois, and I liked that one way better. I wouldn’t recommend it if you are looking for a quick nail polish remover. There are other ones that work better.

What are the products that you used up and would recommend to people?

September favorites <3 2013

Hi everyone!

It’s that time again for monthly favorites!

I didn’t try out much new products because it was kind of a hectic month. I graduated, I went cat-sitting for my uncle and aunt, I had to take care of some paper work and I am looking for a job now. So not to much time to buy new stuff.

Although I did buy one thing this month that made my favorites, and that is the Macadamia Moisturizing Rinse. It is a daily conditioner, you put it on after you used your shampoo and after a minute you rinse it out. It makes your hair so smooth and easy to brush, which is ideal for me because I have really tangled hair after washing it. I also have 2 lip favorites. When I don’t want to use a bold lip color I reach for my Nyx lipgloss in beige. It is just the perfect neutral color. Another favorite is the Clinique chubby stick in Super Strawberry. It is a slightly darker color, but it still is pretty neutral. I love the consistency of the chubby stick, it is moisturizing, it doesn’t dry out your lips and it has a good color payoff. For the eyes I have also 2 favorites, well actually 3, but the third one is the Covergirl under-eye concealer. It’s ideal to cover up dark circles. And the best thing is that it is moisturizing. I personally think it is important to moisturize the under-eye area, because it is a very delicate area that needs a good treatment. This month I used a lot of neutral eye make-up and for that I used my Wet’n’wild trio in Walking on Eggshells. This trio is ideal for a quick neutral look. And the last eye products is the Catrice Longlasting eye liner in black. Despite it is not a waterproof liner, it does stay on all day. I also use it when I go swimming, and even then it stays on. My last favorite is the grey Swarovski wrap bracelet I got as a present for the cat-sitting. A wrap bracelet was on my wishlist, but I didn’t really found one that could go with a lot of outfits, but this one surely does because I already wore it a lot.
